call me strange, nerdy, or whatever, but I find reading textbooks interesting, don't you?

anyone finds this interesting for some heavier, but interesting reading? to look at how these things present history, science, or other topics? talk about reading textbooks for enjoyment or for school but experiences that you enjoyed.

I almost always liked reading textbooks as well, but doing the work is another thing. *smile* My favorites have been science, psychology, literature (not the long stand-alone novels we had to work with for some classes, but the textbooks with the many short stories and essays), the textbooks related to my social work classes, and sometimes history and some other subjects. I've never really been interested in the math-related ones, although I did appreciate it when the examples were easy for me to understand, and I did like when tactile graphics were included in any of my textbooks.
Just for fun (and because I'm generally interested), I had downloaded several textbooks from bookshare, including 2 that have to do with medical terminology, and I think they are interesting and cool to read thru and learn from.

When I was a kid, I used to take my handwriting, language, or reading books with me everywhere so I'd have something to do when going out with my family, and I would also used to make up spelling worksheets similar to some of the pages in my spelling book, and I used to copy chapters or selections from my science, health, and literature books. Yeah, I was just weird like that. *smile* Now when I'm interested in learning about something thru a textbook or other informative/educational book, I'll just look for it on the Bookshare or NLS sites.
